Description
This insurance document lists out enslavers in Athens and how many enslaved people they owned. Southern Mutual Insurance began in 1857 by Reverend John U. Parsons out of Griffin, Georgia. It originally offered five types of insurance, including fire, marine, storage, life, and servant. Servant insurance was discontinued in 1855.
