Prohibition of "Colored Persons" in College Buildings in Board of Trustees Minutes, Vol 2: page 186
This 1827 excerpt from the Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes discusses the prohibition of "Colored persons" into College buildings for any other purpose than cleaning. The enforcement of this regulation fell to the faculty.

Resolved that an additional Servant shall be provided whose duty it shall be with the one at ... to wait, on the Servants, clean ... shoes + boots, to make them ... + to cleanse the College Buildings + for the payment of whom there shall be an additional ... of one dollar per ann. on each student building in College. And there after it shall be the duty of the Faculty to prohibit all other Colored persons from entering the College Buildings for any purpose whatsoever except by special permission from one of the Body.
